A few questions about acid-etching products for glass?
1. I would like to use an acid-etching product to create a "blurry" affect on sections mirror. Can acid-etching products meant for traditional (window-type?) glass be used mirrors?
2. If my first question is a go, I would like to use a magnified shape to match one stenciled onto a wall. The design has some areas were it would be fairly difficult to use tape -- sharp curves, small spaces, etc. Any suggestions on how I could still use the product without taping it off -- for instance, a certain material I can shape into a stencil, or some other method?
I used to do a lot of batik work using traditional batik wax tools. It's like drawing with hot wax. Maybe you could test it out on a piece of mirror. The rear surface of the mirror has metallic paint on it... try not to get the acid on it. Not sure if the acid will eat through the wax either.
