question about idols/gods in thailand?
I just saw a couple of pendants in a Thai shop and thought they were interesting. Can anyone tell me the english translation of these names so that I can look these figures up and learn history? these were the thai names the vendor gave me: Phra Laut (a buddha), Luang Phor Koon (a monk), and Phra See Ho (looks like an elephant god). (i'm not sure if spelling is correct though)

They're all names...
"Prah" is just a way to label them as deities, kinda like Mr., Mrs, etc.
I am not sure exactly which ones Phra Laut and Phra See Ho are ( sorry )
"Luang Phor Koon" is a famous monk ( not sure about his history but people seem to revere him ) but if you really want the translation for his name, it's : Lord Father Yours [or] Your Father, The Lord ( Which doesn't EXACTLY mean how it's translated haha... , "The Lord" in Thai is not the same as "The Lord" in the Western world -- unless you're thinking about in the Ye Olde English days where people called their kings "Lord" [ that would be closer] )
