What brands of antique stoneware are the best to buy?
I'm looking to pick up some old-fashioned stoneware as Western Monmouth Stoneware Red Wing, etc. I have curiosity that makes me the "best" in terms of durability and holding its value. I would like my kids roll on! I'm looking specifically for bottles.
Almost any old you buy will appreciate in value. The two officials that you mentioned are excellent, as are Brush-McCoy, and Niloak. If you do not want to spend a lot of money, consider Robinson-Ramsbottom. Their pottery is undervalued at the moment, while growing in popularity daily. The main thing, of course, is just to buy what you like.
